At The New York Botanical Garden, we are using the Photo-eBox 1419 to digitize our collection of plant specimens which are accessed daily by scientists, conservationists and land managers. Since we started using the eBox, the quality of our images has improved dramatically as has our rate of production. We have five imaging workstations and we produce 3500 images every week. The repeatability of results and consistency of the lighting is critical for large scale digitization projects such as this. With copy photography lighting it can be very challenging to produce even illumination across the entire image area. With the eBox the lighting is perfectly even on every shot. The simple operation of the eBox has reduced training time and virtually eliminated user error. The small footprint of the eBox has allowed us to move from imaging stations that required eighty square feet of floor space to just eight square feet of table space for the eBox.
